It’s Alison’s  last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure to have you along with us :-)

Alison has been busy adding texture to her altered book art journal, and it’s spooky texture too!  In the textural layers, you’ll find Idea-ology Mummy Cloth, Ranger Distress Crackle Paste, wrinkled and ripped PaperArtsy Printed Tissue, and distressed Typewriter Embossing Folder letter keys, made with Black Kraft Stock.  Of course there is some stencilling and stamping too – the Shatter stencil providing cobwebs, and Apothecary and Mini Halloween 3 some detail stamping.  Lots of Idea-ology Halloween ephemera (from over the years) tells the story of the fortune teller with a sideline in poisonings!!  Head over to Alison’s blog to find out more, and there’s a process video coming up on YouTube midweek too.

Andrea created texture by adding lots of layers and incorporating cardboard. The number strip is from Seth Apter’s Stretchers Dies and the red and white frame is made from Whimsy Stamps’ Chunky Checkers Dies. The card itself is made using AALL & Create’s Hexalove Dies. The “thoughts” sentiment is from Tim Holtz’s Noble Gent Stamp Set.

Anna-Karin made a tag with colorful, textured mushrooms and a textured inky background. She used Simon Says Stamp Tall Mushrooms, Pocket Full of Mushrooms and Mushroom Stems to die cut the mushrooms. Grass from Tim Holtz Nature’s Discovery is stamped in the background.

Barbara created a Halloween Idea-ology Vignette box. I added Simon Says Stamp Sparkle Paste Black, Tim Holtz Distress Mica Flakes Ranger, and Tim Holtz Distress Texture Paste Black Opaque Ranger to keep with the theme. She cut the crow by using Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Gothic Portraits Thinlits Dies. She added some Idea-ology elements, including Tim Holtz Idea-ology Trick or Treat and Tim Holtz Idea-ology 2024 Halloween Baseboards.

Cheiron created a fall wreath using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Foliage Wreath. She added it to a Distress Ink blended background, then added Distress Crackle Paste Opaque though the Bubble stencil. To finish her card, she added a Thanks sentiment from the Stampers Anonymous Abstract Florals set.

Emma created a project for Halloween and told the story of someone dreadfully wicked. She used a Square Etcetera Panel, covered with Collage Strips and Halloween Backdrops, before adding a Paper Doll Portrait, some Halloween ephemera and plenty of Distress Crackle Paste to create the texture.

Macarena used Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Texture Paste Black Opaque and heated it until it bubbled which added even more texture. She layered the tag with Simon Says Stamp Circle Quilt die and finished it with one of the lovely Brutus Monroe Bookworm Creative Cards.

Maura was inspired to make a gift card holder using Simon Says Stamp’s Highland Cows stamps, Simon Says Stamp Plaque Slides Christmas stamps and dies, Tim Holtz Sparkle Texture Paste, and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Background paper.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media Halloween tag using The Crafter’s Workshop LIGHT AND FLUFFY MODELING PASTE to create the texture on the background, and decorated it with Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps UNDERTAKER and Tim Holtz idea-ology 2024 Halloween Sticker Book.

Zoey used one of her favorite stencil and texture paste to add some grunge to this tag. She then used a combination of Distress Ink and Oxide for the background and decorated it with Die Cut Leaves and Ideaology Sticker Book

Alison : There are three stencils in action in Alison’s tag trio – Autumn and Ornate by Tim Holtz and her own Grassy stencil from PaperArtsy.  The autumnal colours are Distress Inks with a hint of Rusty Car Infusions.  Stamping detail in the leafy background comes from the Field Notes and Professor 2 sets.  Alison used the Ornate stencil to create some decorative tapes which add a lovely touch of contrasting blue, echoed by some Uncharted Mariner inking.  And some minimal collaging with Idea-ology Photobooth, Film Strip Ribbon, Curator Labels, Snippets Number Strips and Small Talk Stickers allows those background layers to shine.

Andrea used stencils from Tim Holtz (THMM182 and THMM113) and Kate Crane (PS483) for her card. The card and all the die-cut shapes are from AALL & Create’s Retro Numbers die set. She finished it off with a sentiment from Dina Wakley’s Ledger 2 paper set.

Anna-Karin made an autumn card using Simon Says Stamp Tumbling Leaves and Tim Holtz Bubble stencils. The large sentiment was die cut with Simon Says Stamp Capital B Beautiful die and the sticker is from Tim Holtz idea-ology Metallic Sticker Book.

Barbara created two tags using several Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stencils: Bones and Batty from Mini Set 61, Deco Arch, and Script from Mini Set 23. In the center, she used two portraits from the Idea-ology 2025 Halloween Layers and Paper Dolls pack. She used some Ranger Ink Distress Spray Stain in traditional Halloween colors.

Cheiron created a tag with tons of Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Stencils including the Mini Stencil Set 33 and the Mini Stencil Set and Mini Stencil Set 55. She added a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes set, and then finished her tag with leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Rose Branch Wafer dies.

Kath created a card with an Autumnal feel using Simon Says Stamp Red Maple set of layering stencils and Red Maple Wafer dies from the Give Thanks November Card Kit along with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Layering Stencils from Set 48.

Macarena made a cute tag using two stencils on the background: Simon Says Stamp Bold Geometrics and The Crafter’s Workshop Hole Punch. She colored and fussy cut the cute bird from Papert Artsy Kate Crane KC009 stamp set and added her favorite greenery from Paper Artsy Kate Crane Mini Stamp KCM013.

Maura made a Halloween tag using Dina Wakley Media Tags, Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil, Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil, and the Tim Holtz Mischievous Cats dies.

Meihsia was inspired to create a tag using Tim Holtz Mini Stencil Set 26 on the background, and colored it with Tim Holtz Distress 12 Oxide Sprays Bundle 3 and decorated it with Tim Holtz idea-ology Paper Dolls Mini.

Zoey used her favorite Tim Holtz Layering Stencils for her background. She then added Distress Spray Stain, Distress Ink and embellished her tag with a Photo Portrait, stickers and bits of Ideaology.
